I am very proud to have done my first long, self sustained trip through a desert!

Last Winter a few friends and I drove around 750km over 10 days through the Simpsons Desert and over more than 1100 sand dunes. Starting in the Northern Territory, into South Australia and over to Queensland ending in Birdsville!
At first we stopped for 2 days in Dalhousie Springs and soaked a bit in the hot springs before we went on our dusty tour.

Crossing all major routes we had loads of fun, first the French Line, which was way too chopped up with people bringing trailers, we hopped onto the WAA line and later onto the Rig Road, where we saw huge herds of camels and amazing salt lakes, that looked like it had snowed.

In the end we made a small jump over Big Red the tallest dune and end of the QAA line.

Driving an 99, 4.5l Nissan Patrol we used a lot of petrol, but made it with some to spare. Using around 240l of petrol.
