With Blade Show West in full swing, you can bet that makers of all sizes brought stuff to show off. Naturally Civivi, the ever-busy budget label from We Knife Co., has new stuff on the way – but there are even a couple of releases slated for release apart from what the company is teasing at Blade Show West.

Clavi

You can never pigeonhole the work of Ostap Hel; the maker finds inspiration all over the place for his knives, from the natural world, to race cars, even classic 80s flicks. The incoming Clavi sees Hel pursing the super slim front flipper concept he previously explored on designs like the Metamorph. The 3.06-inch wharnie blade is very narrow, giving it an elongated profile that looks custom-made for piercing and high control cutting chores.

The front flipper-equipped Nitro-V blade folds into a handle that is every bit its equal when it comes to stylized slimness; made from either G-10 or Micarta, the Clavi’s coffin-shaped handle has enough room for all four fingers, but looks like it will have a very compressed profile in the pocket.

Cachet

Also on the way is the Cachet, a mid-size workhorse from the Civivi crew itself. The drop point is both swedge’d and fuller’d, and runs to a 3.48-inch blade length, giving it a well-rounded suite of abilities when it comes time to everyday carry work.

The handle is comprised of a steel layer underneath, with parquet pattern scales on top. Those scales come in a trio of interesting materials: a black/red lava-like G-10, ivory G-10, or a very dark green Micarta. These scales are cut in a way to accommodate a frame lock underneath, and in total the trio of models all weigh around the 4 oz. mark.

We first saw the Clavi at the beginning of the year, but this is the Cachet’s debut.
