I was just on the Carrizo Plain in CA and had an incident, me and my buddy came upon a brush fire started by some English lady trying to have tea on the side of the road. Apparently, she didn’t feel any wind, went back to her vehicle for a few seconds and a breeze kicked up knocking her (super. unstable) stove into the brush… As we were approaching both of us went “shit I forgot my shovel…” The happy ending is we put the fire out working as a team with my Waterport! We also got super lucky because there was a dirt road 20 feet away that acted as a fire brake, if that hadn’t been there it coulda turned into many acres… This was right by the lake…

So the lesson is don’t leave your stove unattended, especially if it’s a janky unstable setup… And I am even more stoked on my Waterport, but how can I store my shovel on my truck and keep it from being lifted?

I want to lock a shovel to the bed rail inside my Tacoma but I don’t see anything that jumps out at me. It needs to lock and fit in a bed rail. The shovel has a T-handle end and a hole in the blade. It looks like Front Runner makes a locking axe mount but the head would not work, my shovel blade is too big.
